In June of 2021 I set off on a month-long bike ride up the West Coast. My destination was Alaska because I wanted to see my 50th State. Due to the Canadian Border being closed for Covid19, I was turned back by the Canadian Mounties. I backtracked to Bellingham, Washington and booked passage on the Alaskan Marine Highway System Ferry. I also had four days to wait so I applied for a job with the State of Alaska. After an incredible 38 hours up the Inside Passage I landed in Ketchikan, Alaska. As I disembarked from the ferry, I received an acceptance email from AMHS. I planned to return to San Francisco in three days. I used those three days to hunt for an apartment in town, called my boss, quit my job and never looked back.

I had my bicycle, my camping gear, two t-shirts and an extra pair jean when I got here. After a few trips to Wal-Mart, I had the basics. I decided to write a book about my adventure so that is what I did. With a little luck and some Perseverance, I hope to publish the book in 2022. Wish me luck and buy me a ko-fi when you can.
