In 1989 I bought a brand new HP DeskJet 500+ printer. I could get 2,000 black and white pages printed for $20. It lasted 12 years and was still working when I “downgraded” to a brand new Fax, Printer, Scanner, Copier. I recently “downgraded” again to the latest model. I printed a 120 page document in black and white with 30 pages of color. It cost me $132 and I just bought new ink cartridges yesterday because they were empty. They have decreased performance in 35 years of technology downgrades to a $1 a page. Now that is Technology Today for you.
