Who Needs Pamplona When We Have Anchorage?

Have you ever dreamed of running down the road with a wild animal chasing you? An animal with big horns designed to hurt their adversaries. Well, you do not have to travel all the way to Spain to do that. We have it right here in Alaska.

Running with Reindeer

I was in Anchorage this weekend for the Annual Iditarod Dog Sled Race. There were thousands of people lining the roads in downtown Anchorage for the start of the 2022 Race. As with all big annual events there was pomp and circumstances, live music, food, entertainment, vendors selling souvenirs, and people having fun. I was in that crowd of people having fun.

Running with Bulls, Not

I watched Running with the Bulls Event in Pamplona, Spain for ages. on television. I thought about running it several times, but I have seen what a bull can do to a human personally in Ecuador when I was eighteen years old. Playing with a bull has risks associated with it, and I think watching a man get gored thirty feet away from me and being carted off on a stretcher taught me a valuable lesson. Do not play with a wild animal that has horns.
