Living Alaska — The Accidental Tourist
Enjoying Your Own Town
Tourist for a Day
Having friends in town and being a tour guide for a day or two can be fun. We have all done this at some point. Whether it is friends, family, the in laws or a new lover in town, showing them around has benefits. Going site seeing, shopping, and the historical tours are just a few.
The Tour Director
We have huge Cruise Ships that let off tourists by the thousand-fold. My little town turns from a quaint, quiet Alaskan town into Disneyland for the summer. What happens when you have a visitor who want to be a tourist for a day? Well, if you are wise, you join them, becoming an Accidental Tourist.
The Shows
We have logging shows, fishing trips, canoe rides, kayaking excursions, whale watching, salmon ladders, seals hunting salmon, eagles hunting salmon, bike rentals, duck boats, sea plane tours, misty fiords, lakes, rivers, hiking trails, shopping, and food. Walking around town immersed in tourist shopping, eating, and having fun can be entertaining.
